Zibel

Zibel’s VR project immerses students in the realities of marine pollution, fostering environmental awareness. Supported by The Melita Foundation, this innovative approach inspires young people to protect our seas and shores.

Since 2017, Zibel has grown from beach clean-ups to tackling big tasks like removing lost fishing nets and building artificial reefs. Their new VR project lets students, especially those aged 13-14, experience the impacts of pollution underwater and along the coast. This immersive learning approach makes the issue real and impactful, encouraging students to care about the environment. It’s a perfect fit with The Melita Foundation’s goals of using technology to improve education and environmental care.

Making a difference together

Since starting in 2020, The Melita Foundation has backed many projects run by different groups and backgrounds. From local STEM skills for school kids in the Three Cities to global stuff like planting trees, ESG awareness, teaching maritime law and conservation and ensuring our heritage is well taken care of.
