Nature Trust

Nature Trust Malta’s new wildlife rehab centre at Xrobb L-Ghagin Park is all about caring for local wildlife and supporting breeding programs. With The Melita Foundation’s help, it’s also an educational hotspot promoting eco-tourism.

Nature Trust Malta’s cutting-edge wildlife rehab centre at Xrobb L-Ghagin Park is a sanctuary for local wildlife, from marine turtles to dolphins. Open to the public for free, it also supports breeding programs for endangered species like the Killifish and freshwater crab. The centre serves as an educational hub, raising awareness about human impacts on wildlife and boosting eco-tourism. Plus, it preserves a newly discovered Neolithic temple, adding cultural heritage to the mix. This project perfectly aligns with The Melita Foundation’s commitment to wildlife protection and cultural preservation.

Making a difference together

Since starting in 2020, The Melita Foundation has backed many projects run by different groups and backgrounds. From local STEM skills for school kids in the Three Cities to global stuff like planting trees, ESG awareness, teaching maritime law and conservation and ensuring our heritage is well taken care of.
