Malta Map Society

The Malta Map Society’s ‘British Malta Maps’ exhibition at MUŻA, supported by The Melita Foundation, is a treasure trove of historical maps and insights into Malta’s cartographic heritage.

Hosting the 41st International IMCoS Symposium in October 2024, the Malta Map Society is bringing together map enthusiasts from around the globe. Their ‘British Malta Maps’ exhibition at MUŻA, in collaboration with Heritage Malta, will feature valuable maps from various collections. Open to the public post-symposium, the exhibition includes a detailed catalogue to deepen understanding of Malta’s cartographic history under British rule. This project makes antique maps accessible to all, from collectors to curious newbies, and celebrates Malta’s rich history, perfectly in line with The Melita Foundation’s values.

Making a difference together

Since starting in 2020, The Melita Foundation has backed many projects run by different groups and backgrounds. From local STEM skills for school kids in the Three Cities to global stuff like planting trees, ESG awareness, teaching maritime law and conservation and ensuring our heritage is well taken care of.
