The Malta Image Preservation Archive (MIPA) is on a mission to save Malta’s photographic and architectural history. The Melita Foundation stepped in to fund new camera equipment and lighting, helping to digitise 150-year-old glass plates and film negatives. This project creates high-resolution digital images for public access, research, and viewing. The Melita Foundation mission was to help protect, preserve and share Malta’s rich cultural history for everyone to enjoy and learn from. By preserving these precious images, MIPA ensures that Malta’s past is not forgotten and remains accessible for future generations.
